Singari Grouper Fish Easy Cooking Trip on Jizan Beaches

Singari Grouper: An Easy Culinary Journey on the Shores of Jizan

The Jizan region is known for its richness in a variety of fresh seafood, the most famous of which is grouper. "Singari" is a traditional method of preparing grouper. The Singari method relies on marinating the grouper with a mixture of spices and seasonings, ensuring that the flavor reaches all parts of the fish. The fish is then grilled in the oven or over charcoal, giving it a delicious smoky taste.

the components:

  • Large grouper fish (about 2 kg)
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves of minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika / 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt, black pepper, thyme
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Coriander, chopped dill

Method:

1. Preparing the fish:

  • Wash the grouper well.
  • Cut it in half from the back and we can remove the back chain (it requires some skill).
  • Remove the entrails and clean them well.
  • Make small slits on the surface of the fish with a sharp knife.

2. Seasoning:

  • In a large bowl, combine pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, garlic, salsa, walnuts, paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  • Add olive oil, coriander and dill to the mixture.
  • Brush the fish with the marinade on all sides, making sure to get into the slits.
  • Cover the fish and leave it in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

3. Roasting:

  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
  • Place the marinated fish on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Add water to the tray.
  • Cover the fish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake the fish in the oven for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and let it roast for another 15 minutes until golden.

4. Submission:

  • Serve the fish hot with rice or vegetable salad.

advice:

  • Add seasoning to taste.
  • Make sure the fish is cooked through before serving.
  • Garnish the fish with lemon, coriander and dill before serving.
