
Al-Maghsh: A distinctive traditional dish from the south of Saudi Arabia

The ingredients of the fraud:
Meat: lamb or goat meat.
Onions - tomatoes - water - salt.
Spices (as desired): black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon.
Some people prefer to add vegetables (optional): such as okra, potatoes, and zucchini.
How to prepare it:
Cut the meat into medium-sized pieces.
Peel the onion and cut it into slices.
Cut the tomatoes into slices.
All ingredients are placed in a maghsh (a cylindrical stone vessel).
Add water until it covers the ingredients.
Cover the pot tightly and place in the tandoor (traditional oven) over low heat.
Leave for 2 hours or more until the meat and vegetables are cooked.
How to present it:
Maghs is served with rice or khmer.
The broth can be drunk as a soup.
You can add some other ingredients such as ghee or yogurt as desired.
